My granddaughter was in the play Hairspray at a youth theatre in a small town in NC and she played the part of Motormouth and sang the song "I Know Where I've Been" and she brought the house down. Thank you Queen Latifia for this great play and beautiful song. I grew up in the 60's so I can appreciate this. I could listen to the sound track all day!! Thanks!!!
  • What a voice!

I loved her in Last Holiday, but I never paid much attention to her music. I'm not much of a hip hop person. This album blew me away. Everyone owes The Queen a second look. Her voice is incredible!
  • Q-L is one hell of a talent!

Q-L is one hell of a talent! She transitioned from Rap to these fantastic Jazz Ballads like she'd never done anything else but this. It's a pretty nice mix with some newer works thrown in that she seems to be making her own. What a talent! I definitely will be getting more of her Jazz stuff as her voice is perfect for it.
  • Love the Queen!

There's a reason why she's queen...whether lighting up the big screen or singing her heart out, she is always surprising but never ceases to amaze!
  • The Queen is an understatement!

The Queen has sung, and sing she does, and this album is a fine addition to her work! This album should be in any jazz or big band lovers collection, and if you haven't heard the Dana Owens album add that to your collection too. Now just give me some Opera with this sweet heavenly voiced lady.......we shall see what the future holds???

I had always liked Ms. Latifah before her Jazz explosion, but WOW! ! ! I bought the Dana Owens Album right here when it was first realeased. Had heard Simply Beautiful on the radio and that's all it took. I was a carpenter on her movie with LL, "The Last Holiday" and to this day still kick myself in the rearend for not pushing to speak to her for even just a few brief moments and express my apprecation and respect for her versatility. She literally blew me away with the first jazz album, not to mention just seeing her in person. She was just one of us. I think that this is what makes a TRUE star. Gathering from the reviews I've read here, I can count on being embraced with blessed sounds of Soul. I'm glad to have finally purchased her latest masterpiece. Oh yeah, is she not simply GORGEOUS? ? ? ! ! !
