  • Hyde’s best solo album

    By [Trishy]
The first time I heard heard Hello, my obsession was set in stone. To this day it is still my favorite song throughout all of Hyde’s work. I can confidently say the amount of talent this man has with vocal techniques, stage presence, and his ability to touch your soul and not just your ears is untouchable. If you haven’t checked this album out... What are you waiting for??
  • Don't be fooled by imitations!

I was recently turned on to Vamps after seeing them with Sixx A.M. so, I thought I'd check them out. A bit disappointed that a lot of their stuff is in Japanese but, that's where they're from so, just have to wait for more American releases. Very disappointed to find out that out of all Hyde listings, this is the only one that is actually the lead singer from Vamps.
  • Finally!!!!

Simply timeless. Amazing vocals from Hyde, he has such a beautiful, emotional and authentic voice! And the songs are great! He and his band deserves much recognition!
  • Hyde

Hyde is a remarkably talented musician and lyricist. This album demonstrates the range of his talent, but by no means does it define it, because truly watching him perform is just mind blowing. It is a shame that iTunes is so limited in its offerings to the American iTunes website from other countries, but especially Japan.
  • Love it!

I love Hyde! But I think that this is just a mixture of some of his songs from L'Arc~en~ciel. Please put up more Hyde songs soon!
  • Awesome but...something's missing...

Where's A Drop of Colour?! I just listened to that beautiful song and hoped that it could be on here. Sadly, it isn't. Though it's a good thing that this showcases Hyde's beautiful voice. If it's possible, put the individual albums that these songs came from on here!!! We Hydeists want more Hyde!!!! <3 <3 <3

If he is solo or with L'arc-en-ciel hes an awesome ROCKER! And will always be :)
  • A great compilation!

If you are a fan of jrock (especially L'Arc-en-Ciel) then check out this compilation of Hyde's solo work. It's a very strong album of some of his best stuff! And for those of you that are new to the genre, it's a great place to start. Not sure what the itunes reviewer was thinking (was he? TRYING to sound like Scott Weiland?? Does he even KNOW what Jrock IS???) so don't let that person scare you off. The strong arrangments and Hyde's trademark vocals are sure to please.

Thank you for taking this album at face value and reviewing something that was clearly a forced assignment. To say that Hyde is merely imitating early 2000s rock music is a little ignorant. He has been successfully making music with his second band, L'Arc~en~Ciel, since 1993, and released his three solo albums (of which this is a compilation) between 2002-2006. So, no real surprise that the music has an "early 2000s" feel to it. To say he's trying to copy Scott Weiland and Chris Cornell is a little ridiculous because he's never listed either of them as influences, and suggests you've never actually heard a Soundgarden album before. Your opinion of forced, faked, and overwrought vocals is just that...an opinion. Probably based on annoyance that you had to listen to the album. Some opinions find his vocals to be emotional and inspiring in the same vein as Dave Grohl and Matt Bellamy. In fact, this album isn't even a collection of the best of his songs..."Dolly" being one of the greatest rock anthems (about clones) ever written. I'll admit that his latest incarnation as the lead singer of VAMPS' first album was less than inspired, but the second album recently released has shown a vast improvement. I don't think Hyde's music is so much an acquired taste as it is that most Americans are reluctant (read unwilling) to listen to anything not sung in English.
