This a great album, created in the same studio Sinatra performed. Love the orchestrations and particularly "You Go to my Head" with Roy Hargrove. Best version I've ever heard. Buy it.

There are endless Sinatra tribute albums. They consistently fall short. No one can match such an iconic figure in voice and timing. This is THE BEST of them all. Tyrell is so natural singing these songs -- without pretense or struggle. The arrangements behind him so beautiful. Very well done. It is wonderful.
  • I don't get it.

This album seems to require an enjoyment of Sinatra's music without actually liking Sinatra. I know it was probably a passion project for Mr. Tyrell but knowing he cannot ever top Sinatra -- why bother? Listening to these songs make me want to listen to Sinatra. So unless you're a huge Steve Tyrell fan don't bother, go listen to Frank.

I somewhat agree with Bladerunner, although I would stick with Sinatra these are a refreshing takes on Sinatra standards. I believe his album "A New Standard" is actually better and does a great job on the Billie Holiday standard "It's The Mood That I'm In" check it out!!!!. Overall his gritty voice works for me somewhat like Louis Armstorng. By Johnana

I have never owned a recording that grabbed me more. I can listen to this over and over. Some songs are better than others but that changes for me on a daily basis. This is what music is all about!

Tyrell is the best. He has that great gritty voice that just attracts you to all his songs. Anyone that loves music understands that his voice is different but thats what makes him great.!!!

Steve does a wonderful job in this CD of copying the great hits of Sinatra such as the ever so popular Fly Me To The Moon. Each song is done perfectly with the orignal version. It;s a must buy for all Sinatra fans (Tyrell fanns too!).

I love this recording! I listen to it in the OR while operating on my patients. The songs keep the nurses and surgical technicians entertained. I think Lauryn's voice in "Something Stupid" is more seasoned than Nancy's in the original recording with Frank Sinatra, one of my favorites. Steve Tyrell is truely a gift to our time.
